It’s another Friday and my only lonely post for the week. But I’ve already started working on a post about our amazing bat week and a new STEM idea we did today! Ew-Wee! Exciting!
Click Kacey’s button to read lots more randomness from one of the craziest week’s in a teacher’s year!
It was Red Ribbon Week at school, and probably at your school too! And I love me some spirit days! I love the chance to show off my crazy, goofy size with the kids and get them all excited about their teacher dressing up, too! Last week I showed off my TMNT costume with my teammies for Superhero Day (We had a workday Monday so we started RRW last week!)
This week we had PJ Day
Wednesday was Tacky Day, but I had a dentist appt. and chickened out…nothing to show here
Thursday we had a field trip and it was crazy hair day. I told the kiddos we could still wear crazy hats, just no hair that was going to need maintenance! I found this amazing tinsel spider headband at Walgreens one morning! It’s gorgeous!
Today was Dress up as your future career, which is a way to allow the kiddies to dress up but without all the masks and gore! I was Carrie Mathison from Homeland. I seriously was going to be a bat up until this morning when I just didn’t want to anymore! So I found a cheap white button up shirt, some “career” pants my little sis gave me because that’s what she has to wear at her normal office job, and turned my puffy vest inside out for a bulletproof look! At school I printed out the letters CIA, made myself a badge with my picture on it! and printed off a shield for my blazer! wow! It was a little too easy! And I acted like I was on the lookout for the bad guys all day!
I did do some teaching too! I’ll be sharing more about bats this weekend, but in my intervention group I used Cheryl’s Little Owl’s Night book companion and we paired it up with some nonfiction and used her graphic organizers. Amazingly, this Scholastic News I had hanging up was a comparison of owls and mice! Just like Cheryl’s minibook! Love when that happens!
I’ll be having a little “we all survived” sale on Halloween ONLY! So be sure to stock up because half off doesn’t come around often!
